Residents of Bogitaa in Riana ward, Bonchari Sub County in Kisii County were left in a rude shock on Monday morning after a body of a 20-year-old woman was found dumped in front of Bogitaa primary school gate.
Confirming the incident area chief Edward Moenda said the deceased identified as Nyabonyi Ong'oncho hails from Mwanyakamoita village in Mwanyare in Riana ward.
"Nyabonyi was last spotted in a local bar on Sunday evening consuming beer. It is shocking that unknown people killed her and dumped her body as Bogitaa primary school playing ground," said the chief.
Mr. Moenda said cases of crime are at the peak in the area.
"Residents should stop killing one another since no one is above the law. A probe has commenced to find out who killed Nyabonyi," he added.
He said police officers from Gesonso police station picked the body from the scene and took it to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital morgue.
The administrator urged residents to provide information to police to ease the arrest of Nyabonyi's killers.
"Police won't reveal the name of anyone who will volunteer information about the killing," he added.
