Political analyst Prof Herman Manyora has decried runaway corruption in the country, which has resulted in unending multibillion scandals.
Speaking on Sunday, the commentator stressed on the need for the vice to come to a halt, quoting former American President Barrack Obama's remarks that Kenyans are on the look.
He added that just like Obama earlier said, Kenyans are intelligent, and should not be taken to be foolish and unaware of what is happening in the country.
He advised that there is a need for public monies to remain intact, advising the corrupt that they need to either stop stealing, through graft or steal very little if they must do it.
"Obama told these thieves not to take Kenyans for fools. They should stop stealing greedily or steal very little if they must (Obama aliwaambia hawa wezi kuwa wasifikirie Wakenya si werevu. Wanafaa wawache kuiba kwa pupa. Kama ni lazima, basi waibe kidogo sana)," he said.
Manyora made the remarks in an interview on KTN News on Sunday evening, where he also claimed that appetite for public monies can be blamed for the growing government debt.
For instance, he said, the corrupt should only go for Sh1 in Sh50 if they must steal and let the rest goes to development.
According to Manyora, government officials are pushing for more and more loans with the intention of stealing the money once it lands in the country.
"They are borrowing too much so that they cab steal it when it arrives (Wanakopa sana ili pesa zije kisha wapore)," he added.
