Police officers arrested five men alleged to be selling cookies laced with bhang to students on Thursday in Voi, Taita Taveta County.
The five men were caught in possession of the weed cookies.
Taita Taveta Police Commander Saidi Kiprotich pointed out that the five were nabbed after rumours of the trade spread.
The suspects are in police custody awaiting to be arraigned in court.
Police said that a crackdown on all bhang peddlers will continue. On Tuesday, two police officers were arrested in Voi for hiding drugs in the toilet.
"TWO @PrisonsKe Constables captured on CCTV camera hiding COCAINE in a toilet were yesterday nabbed by #DCI Detectives from #VOI. The two suspects-Boniface KORIR & William CHENGO-who are attached at #Manyani Maximum Prison were also found in possession of ammunitions w/Authority," tweeted DCI Kenya.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i also declared that the government will not rest until all these people are brought to justice.
He vowed to use all means possible to win this war.
