Police officers in Kisii County have raised concern over increased cases of mysterious deaths in the region in recent days.
Kisii County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi said police are left stranded due to the increased number of people being found dead in their houses.
"It is shocking the rate at which bodies are being discovered in houses with the latest incident being that of a female secondary school teacher whose body was found in her bathroom on Tuesday," he said.
The county security boss, however, assured that detectives are working around the clock to ensure reasons for increased mysterious deaths are known.
"Our people can't continue dying mysterious and their bodies left in houses. Police are doing everything possible to establish whether those people who have died mysteriously dies of illness or they are killed," he added.
He urged members of the public to be calm, cooperate with police and report crime suspects to police.
"Any killer hiding in deep villages should be reported to authorities for arrests to be made. There is no way we will condone people to kill others," said Kigochi.
