Should organisers of Joseph Mochere's funeral stick to cultural practices, a sheep will be hanged and subsequently slaughtered on his grave this Thursday.
In compliance with Abagusii culture, the ropes which will be used to hang the sheep will thereafter be used to lower his body to grave.
Mzee Mogikoyo Orina contends that the ritual helps cleanse the family from another possible suicide.
"There is nothing big with our cultural practices. When someone commits suicide, we treat that as bad omen.
"To curb such future occurrences, a sheep will be hanged and subsequently slaughtered on his grave," he said adding that the sacrificial lamb won't be be consumed after all by locals.
Traditionally, he adds, Mr. Mochere should have been ferried home on Thursday and buried the same day.
However, the latter practice is much unlikely because of the distance from Nairobi to Kisii and his wider audience connections who may be interested to mourn him at home.
The popular comedian committed suicide last week following domestic brawl with his wife, Teresa Moraa.
