Laikipia Women Rep Catherine Waruguru has told single women to find married men and hit off a relationship.
Waruguru said it okay to be a second wife than to remain single.
The youthful MP said as long as a single mother gets a good man to take care of her, there is no need to continue being alone.
“I’d encourage a majority of Kenyan women who are single and they’ve found a man who they think can be a good friend and a husband, moving forward, and they love their children. We do not have to raise our children as single mothers,” Waruguru said.
The sassy MP is married as a second wife to Wakili William Kiget.
She said there is a need for children to have a father figure in their lives.
“I passionately feel for the boy child. Not only through marriages, we need to take this conversation further. That our children, whether boys or girls, they need people to look up to as fathers and if there no fathers we need to go farther to see whether we can get uncles, and mentors,” she added.
She was speaking a local TV’s morning show.
