Governors John Nyagarama (Nyamira) and James Ongwae (Kisii), hosted dozens of MPs from the region at the latter's house where unity and Uhuru's trip were expansively discussed.

But bottles of whiskey in some of the tables caused heated online debate with residents accusing the MPs of losing focus when discussing  important regional issues.

"There is nothing substantial will come out of the meeting. They are already drunk as you can see. They are just wasting their time and sleep," said Sam Omosa.

James Atunga added: "In such an important meeting, we don't expect people to be drunk even before they deliberate on the issues. Our leaders have shown that liquor is important than anything."

An MP who attended the meeting said they were divided along Handshake and the famous Tanga Tanga team before they reached a compromise in the five hours meeting.

He said: "What we wanted is unity ahead of the trip and I think we have achieved it. All of us will traverse the two counties with Uhuru and Raila. We shall also ensure all projects that will be launched are in supplementary budget."

Evidently, the table next to Governor Nyagarama was full of whiskey, thus the anger from s section of social media users.
