Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has claimed that some Jubilee leaders are causing unnecessary drama during their arrests.
Wamatangi said some of his colleagues in Jubilee Party cause drama when they are arrested by the police for breaking the law.
Speaking on Tuesday during a political show on NTV, Wamatangi said it is unfortunate to see politicians storming police stations demanding for the release of their colleagues who have been arrested.
“I believe in the rule of law and maintain that court orders be respected. That said, it doesn’t help when a politician is arrested and dozens of his colleagues storm a police station to cause drama, address the media to bring up political statements,” Wamatangi said
Senator Wamatangi further said that some politicians are paying people to have them demonstrate in the streets on issues that are unnecessary.
“We see them (politicians) donning yellow ribbons. It is unnecessary. I also saw other politicians giving money to crowds in Gatundu so as to protest Miguna’s issue,” he added.
Last week, police officers were forced to use teargas to disperse MPs who were at the Kilimani Police Station where Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was being held following his arrest on assault charges.
