Unlike his predecessors Mwai Kibaki and Jomo Kenyatta, Uhuru's trips could surpass trips made by his mentor Daniel Moi in 24 years he ruled the country.

His continued foreign trips comes amid biting economy, which saw acting Treasury boss Ukur Yatani reduce trips by state officials for 2019/20 in a bid to fund stalled projects.

Last week, Uhuru visited Uganda where he signed cross border deals with President Yoweri Museveni. Hours later, he flew to Zimbabwe for the burial of controversial statesman Robert Mugabe.

On Tuesday, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena said Uhuru shall leave the country this week to Singapore for a finance and geopolitics conference.

While in Singapore, he will speak at a forum that brings together governments, private sector and thought leaders from around the world to discuss global trends in business, finance and geopolitics, and the impact on regional and global growth, prosperity and stability.

State House spokesperson Kanze Dena said the president would speak about Kenya's growth trajectory and opportunities for growth in East Africa.

Ms Dena said the President will attend the Summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsein Loong of Singapore.

Thereafter, Uhuru shall jet to New York for 74th session of UN general assembly. Uhuru is lobbying to have Kenya winning a non permanent representative post in UNSC.

Early this month, Kenya was endorsed by African Union for the position. However, Djibouti has put a spirited fight and will challenge Kenya.

“We have a deep conviction peace is a shared responsibility,” Monica Juma told a gathering at the Sheraton Hotel.

“We will use our position at the Security Council and the AU Peace and Security Council to build appropriate linkages for collaboration and harmonised action.”

Non-permanent members may not have a vote on substantial matters, but they may hold rotational presidency, which gives a chance to push through agenda.

On Monday night, the country launched the official logo and campaigns in the city that hosts the African Union.

But in previous interviews, State House has often defended Uhuru's trips, arguing that they are fundamental in the growth of the country's economy.
