The story was published by the Sunday Nation.

Chemno says the newspaper should apologize to him with immediate effect since the story has painted him in a bad way.

Speaking in his office on Wednesday, he said he has never been a billionaire and that he is a staunch supporter of the DP.

“I am not a billionaire but a hustler working for wananchi. The information is meant to tarnish my name,” said the Uasin Gishu deputy governor.

He said he will not allow the publication to destroy the good relationship he enjoys with DP Ruto.

“I am not in any way out to scuttle Deputy President William Ruto's political plans. I am solidly behind him and his 2022 presidential ambitions. I am just a small person,” he added.

Chemno who was elected alongside Governor Jackson Mandago on a Jubilee ticket in 2017 further dismissed reports that Rift Valley billionaires were plotting for the new union to fight the DP.

He, however, called on Kenyans from all divides to support Ruto's presidential bid since his work speaks for itself.
