University of Nairobi embattled Vice-Chancellor Prof Stephen Kiama has been warned by the court against any actions that will disrupt the peace and stability within the university.
During the yesterday's hearing before judge Maureen Onyango, the court warned Kiama against tampering with the case through any action, pending its hearing.
"The parties to file their responses after they made an agreement to have all applications heard on January 30, 2020," judge Onyango ruled.
What had been expected for hearing was an application by the Education CS Gorge Magoha, which challenged the court's temporary orders reinstating Prof Kiama as the institution's VC.
Magoha termed the Monday's directive by the court as unjust, whereby he directed that Prof Isaac Mbeche should sit as the UoN VC on acting capacity until a suitable replacement was found.
UoN chair appointment was also withheld after the council moved to court seeking to annul their removal by Magoha. Justice Pauline Nyamweya then ruled out their removal as unlawful.
Through their lawyer Fred Ngatia, the council affirmed that its three-year appointment took effect from September 6, 2018, following their gazetting.
