A man died at Riruta area in Nairobi on Christmas day after a fight turned tragic.
Witnesses said Richard Odhiambo, a renown food vendor at Wanyee, Riruta, was stabbed by a James Wanjiku after an altercation.
The Tuesday night incident occurred when the suspect was in a fight with another man. The deceased was in an attempt to mediate when the suspect turned the dagger on him.
The suspect is reported to have obtained a knife and driving it through Odhiambo’s chest.
Dagoreti OCPD, George Seda, confirmed the incident to Citizen Digital saying the suspect is in police custody.
“The suspect was arrested in his house and the murder weapon recovered. He will be taken to court on Thursday,” stated Seda.
A somber mood engulfed the area as the deceased’s family wailed on learning that Odhiambo had been pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The area OCPD assured residents and the family that thorough investigations are being conducted to ensure that the culprit faces the law accordingly.
The body, which was soaked in blood, was taken to Nairobi City Mortuary.
Seda urged those with differences to solve them through the right channels instead of taking the law into their own hands.
