Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina has expressed his satisfaction with President Uhuru Kenyatta's warning to leaders who were dwelling on 2022 campaigns.
While speaking during a Citizen TV interview, Ole Kina argued that the president had abandoned social media and resorted to working for Kenyans.
The senator said he was pleased with the president's decision to lambast politicians who were moving around the country, campaigning for 2022 elections.
"I am quite pleased that he finally told them off. You know when you have people pestering around you.....what he told them is very important. 'Go back to your constituencies. Go develop your constituencies. You were given money,'" said Ole Kina.
According to ODM Senator's interpretation, the head of state was issuing a directive to MPs to utilise their time in developing their constituencies instead of politicking.
He opined that the president knew the lawmakers from the National Assembly usually receive NG-CDF which could be used in initiating development projects at grassroots levels and that that was the reason why he had to remind them to work.
Ole Kina asserted that senators do not receive NG-CDF unlike their counterparts in the National Assembly pointing out that, "You see, the difference between a Member of the National Assembly and a senator is that senators are not given a penny. But some of us are still doing a lot of things."
