Kiala said that the President must not show mercy to anyone who is siphoning public coffers.

According to the former deputy governor, President Kenyatta will leave a bad legacy if he fails to tame graft.

He stated that corruption is getting out of hand despite the government’s renewed efforts in fighting it.

The former Wiper politician said stern action should be taken against individuals who loot public funds.

Kiala said much focus should be put on recovery of stolen public funds and resources.

“The government ruthlessly collects taxes from us for our common good. Government officers steal the money and live lavishly amongst us,” Kiala tweeted on Thursday.

He added, “public looters become role models to our children. When our children grow up, they join the government. It is a vicious circle.”

Kiala’s  concerns comes as pressure piles on President Kenyatta to sack Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) who have been adversely mentioned in corruption scandals.

On Tuesday, Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi asked the President to sack state officers implicated in graft scandals.

Investigations into allegations of massive graft involving government officials in some state agencies is ongoing.

President Kenyatta has maintained that the fight against graft is one of his legacy agenda.

According to the President, big names which have been mentioned in graft scandals will fall soon.
