The Orange Democratic Movement party has faulted the media for misreporting about alleged demonstrations against Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
On Tuesday, ODM Parliamentary Group said the party officials would visit IEBC to demand for Kibra constituency voters register, which is yet to be availed days to by-elections.
"To @IEBCKenya; We will be paying you a visit tomorrow at 9.00am now that your officers have learnt nothing from your recent history.
"By now the register for Kibra constituency by-election should be publicly available, including the public portal," Junet Mohamed had said.
However, media reports indicated that the party was to wage a match to the IEBC offices, to demand for the register that will be used for the polls.
On Wednesday, the party said it had no intentions to plan protests, adding that the party leadership was already at the IEBC waiting to get the verified register.
"We are at the @IEBCKenya offices waiting to meet the Chairman. No demonstrations as the media had reported and anticipated.
"It is a legal requirement that we MUST be given a copy of the updated voter register for Kibra or any other area that we request for #AvailKibraRegister," read the tweet.
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati on Wednesday morning released a statement where he gave a breakdown on the status of Kibra constituency voters register.
ODM has fielded Imran Okoth in the race to succeed Ken Okoth. Jubilee nominated McDonald Mariga while ANC picked Eliud Owalo for November 7th by-election.
