Former Jubilee Party vice-chairman David Murathe has continued his onslaught against Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.
Speaking during KTN's Tony Gachoka's birthday on Saturday night, Murathe said that Raila is the only person who can stop Ruto from clinching the country's top seat.
"If there is somebody who can stop that guy (Ruto) from becoming President, it is the former Prime Minister. Our main aim is to make sure that person (Ruto) does not become President because if he does we are all finished," Murathe said adding that he is determined to block his presidency.
On his part, Raila who had attended the event said that hoodwinking Kenyans will not influence their decision on who will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta as the next president.
"We will not be intimidated by money. We will not be intimidated by people who have no agenda for this country, people who don’t know where the country is coming from and where we want to go. The Kenyan spirit is much bigger than the penny you want to give them,” Raila said.
Although Raila has not declared his bid yet for the presidency in 2022, there are speculations that he will be on the ballot.
Ruto, on the other hand, has said that in the event Raila throws his hat into the ring, he is ready to battle it out with him.
