Political strategist David Osiany has urged the police to take serious interest about Machakos governor Alfred Mutua's latest claims.
Mutua on Monday recorded a statement with the police, saying that Deputy President William Ruto and Garissa Town MP Aden Duale and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen have been threatening him.
Osiany, also a political analyst, now says that the police should take action and even beef up Mutua's security if need be, to clear themselves of the blame should anything happen.
He noted that after Mutua's complains, the police will have to take the blame should anything happen to the governor, even if not related to the said threats made by the three.
"We want to see the DCI investigating this matter. Let him be given extra police so that he won't come back to remind us in case something happens to him (Tunataka kuona kama DCI watachunguza haya mambo na apewe polisi zaidi ili asije akafanyikiwa na kitu akaja kusema si niliwaambia)," he said on Tuesday.
He made the remarks on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha political show.
He said that though the governor is most likely just trying to play politics, there should be a serious consideration of his claims.
"We cannot ignore his fears for his life (Madai anayosema eti maisha yake yako hatarini hatuwezi yapuuza)," he added.
In a press conference on Monday, Mutua said that the threats were issued at the Nairobi State House on both occasions, his crime being his attacks on the DP.
