Villagers of Daraja Mbili in Kisii County are living in fear after a man was hit to death in suspected love triangle on Monday evening.
Scared locals said the deceased Antony Kirera has been having an affair with married women in the area.
"Kirera rented a house here 5 months ago and he has been chasing people's wives for sex in the exchange of money. He was caught red-handed with a married woman in his house when he was hit with a blunt object from the back of his head by members of the public who stormed his house," said Sylvester Maeba.
Mr. Maeba said the deceased gave deaf ears to locals who have been warning him against sleeping with married women.
Kisii police commander Bernard Muli said the body of Kirera was abandoned in his sitting room where he was caught having a chat with someone's wife.
"Police were alerted about Kirera's death after the killers escaped. His body was moved to Kisii Teaching and referral hospital morgue," he said.
He assured that police has commenced to apprehend the killers.
Muli argued that the deceased was drunk when he was attacked.
