Kabazi Ward MCA Dr Peter Mbae has called on the National Land Commission and the Nakuru County Commissioner to move with speed to solve the Ampiva land tussle.
Speaking over the weekend during a knock-out tournament in Solai in which Ampiva FC emerged the winner, the MCA stated that despite the performance of the team, they still lack practice ground.
According to the MCA, the Ampiva land tussle has contributed poor performances the land in question was supposed to cater for the stadium and other amenities but this has not materialized.
“It pains that the team that has won here today has no ground where they can practice due to the case that has been there throughout concerning Ampiva farm.
I, therefore, call on the County Commissioners and the National Land Commissioner to move with speed and ensure the matter is addressed so that the youths can have a place to practice,” said Dr Mbae.
The Ampiva team will be facing it out with other teams from Subukia this coming weekend and later the finals for the best teams from various sub-counties will be helped at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru under the Governor’s Cup tournament.
As a way of nurturing talents at the grass root level, Mbae says he is committed to ensuring all the stadiums in his ward are renovated.
The MCA also revealed that they will also be partnering with the FKF to offer training to coaches and referees from the area besides nurturing players.
“We have embarked on transforming sports in Kabazi through the expansion of our sports amenities. We shall also partners with FKF in terms of training and talent nurturing,” said Mbae.
So far, Kabazi Primary, Solai Stadium and Ndungiri grounds have been renovated to cater for the needs of the youths in Kabazi Ward.
