Turbo Sub-county Deputy County Commissioner Gideon Ombongi said they do not know the whereabouts of the students
“In Turbo constituency we have 3,156 form one admission slots and it is sad that only 2,367 students have reported to their respective schools but up to now 790 students have not,” he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.
“I have directed the sub-county education officer, chiefs, and their assistants to look for these children, we want to why they have not in school and find ways to ensure they report to school with immediate effect,” he added.
He, however, urged parents of such children to take them to take them to school failure to which stern actions will be taken against them.
“There is no any valid reason as to why a parent should not take his child to since the government is offering free secondary education. I want to give a stern warning to such parents that they will be arrested and charged for denying their children their right to education,” noted Ombongi.
