The president last week fired salvos at a section of his Cabinet Ministers whom he accused of poor performance and involvement in politics, warning them of a sack.

But Kagwanja now claims that the president might not make any move to sack the group in the course of his tenure for fear of long court battles and a waste of government funds.

He pointed out that the group could easily challenge the sack in court, leading to a standoff that could derail the government which seeks to leave a legacy ahead of his 2022 retirement.

"These people were nominated and approved by the parliament, making them fortified against such threats. He cannot go around sacking them at will," he said.

"He is well aware that they can easily challenge him in court, a move that will see a lot of time and government coffers wasted in court battles," he added.

He was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha, Monday morning.

Speaking in Kitengela last week, Uhuru reiterated that he will not stand by and let his officials engage in politics all year round and must now settle down to work.

This is as he seeks to realize his reelection manifesto, specifically the Big 4 agenda plan.
