Chesumei legislator Wilson Kogo has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to visit the Rift Valley region and meet area leaders.
Speaking on Saturday during an Inua Mama event in Nandi County, Kogo said the president made the right decision to meet Mt Kenya leaders on Friday, and should organise a similar meeting with Rift Valley leaders.
He said the president and his deputy should tour the South and North rift regions and provide guidance.
"My prayer is that just as you had a meeting with our brothers from Mt Kenya, come and visit us we the people from the North Rift and the South Rift alongside our Deputy Rresident William Ruto because we voted for the two of you to lead us. (Na ombi langu ni moja, vile uliweza kukutana na ndugu zetu kule milimani wewe tembea hapa North Rift, tembea South Rift ukiwa na Deputy President wetu William Ruto kwa sababu nyinyi wawili ndio tuliwapea kura kutuongoza)," the Chesumei legislator said.
Kogo assured the president that leaders from the Rift Valley region will support his agenda for the country, and the direction he points Kenyans at.
He also urged President Kenyatta to fulfill his promise that he would lead the country for ten years, and allow Ruto succeed him for 10 years when his presidential term expires in 2022.
