The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) was this Friday rewarded by the Germany government.
DCI has confirmed that Deputy Germany Ambassador Mr Thomas Wimmer handed to DCI crime scene bags, cars and motorcycles.
Through a tweet, DCI said the reward will go to Anti-Terrorism Police Unit Emergency Response Team.
"DCI Kenya Director today received 20 Crime Scene Bags, 5 Motor vehicles & 10 Motorcycles that were handed over to him by the Deputy Germany Ambassador Mr Thomas Wimmer. The donated items will go a long way in supporting the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit Emergency Response Team," DCI tweeted.
Speaking at the function DCI Director, George Kinoti, thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for their continued support to the agency in its endeavour to enhance the capability of its officers.
The function was also attended by senior officers from DCI headquarters and an official from the Germany embassy in Kenya.
Mr Thomas Wimmer, while speaking on the same occasion reiterated Germany's commitment to supporting and cooperating with the DCI in their sustained war against crime.
This is the first reward DCI is receiving from the Germany government this year. Back on November 8, the agency received other goodies, including Universal Forensic Extraction Devices (UFED) used for extracting passwords from communication devices like mobile phones.
