Ongwae said Gusii leaders opposed to Matiang'i's rise in leadership are enemies to the Gusii community.

"Gusii leaders should stand firm and support one of their own no matter what. I strongly condemn a section of leaders who are out to criticize Matiang'i calling him names just because of his good work. As leaders from the community we must support Matiang'i for him to win the presidency," he noted.

The second term county boss insisted that the Cs has made Gusii community famous and proud from the first time he was appointed as the education Cs in 2013.

He confirmed his support for Matiang'i in 2022.

"Kenya does not belong to two tribes only. It is high time the president to come from the Gusii community because we have a son who has proved to be worth a president," he stated.

He was speaking on Sunday at Nyamira Central PAG church during the official opening of church's newly built Sanctuary.
