Responding to a recent incident in which a young man from Njoro lost his life after consuming illicit brew, the youth leader said the government has a lot to do to end the vice at the grass root.

He called on local administrators to up their game in Konza Estate of Njoro as well as Elburgon where the illicit brew business is rampant.

“Alcohol has continued to mess our youths. I want to call on the security to up their game in the fight against illicit brew in areas of Njoro and Elburgon,” said Kimani.

The youth also took issue with the County liquor licensing board over what he termed is the issuance of licenses without consulting the locals.

According to Kimani, some liquor joints are next to learning institutions which is against the law hence their licenses should be revoked.

“All liquor licenses that were issued in the community without the involvement of the community should be revoked,” he said.
