Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga has once again lauded the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) push, as a good move towards addressing challenges facing Kenyans.
However, she now says, even if implemented, Kenyans should not not expect that the proposed changes to fix all their problems.
“I think the issues that have been discussed in the BBI report are solutions to the problems that Kenyans expressed, but of course you cannot say that the referendum will fix all our problems," she said on Citizen TV Tuesday morning.
She also stressed on the need for political stability, one of the factors BBI supporters have said it will enhance if specific amendments, like expansion of the executive , are made.
According to Wanga, Kenyans should not expect economic growth in the absence of political stability and political goodwill.
“There cannot be economic growth without political stability and people in leadership pushing it forward," she added.
A section of politicians in support of the changes have proposed creation of three more executive seats for a more inclusive government, which they say will eliminate post election wrangles.
