Mr Thaddius Nyabaro, the Ekerenyo MCA unleashed on his 34 colleagues after a heated argument over holding of meetings far from Kisumu escalated in the hotel.

Earlier, his Magwagwa counterpart Fred Omayio, had questioned assembly's alleged huge spending on trips outside the county, degenerating into the standoff.

"They had disagreed on meetings outside the county and at that point, Omayio who was visibly drunk, started causing chaos within the hotel and even breaking cups and plates.

"Thereafter, Omayio started fighting a colleague while Nyabaro also picked a fight with another colleague. At this point, angry Nyabaro unleashed bees from a secret bag thus causing further commotions as others scampered for safety," said Sergeant-at-arms, Mr George Angwenyi.

For several minutes, the MCAs caused chaos in the hotel before the security team intervened by arresting Mr Fred Omayio, who was taken to Kisumu Police Station for destruction of the hotel's property.

Mr Nyabaro and his Kiabonyoru counterpart Duke Omoti, escaped from a possible arrest by jumping over the fence leaving only Omayio in trouble with authorities.

Speaker Moffat Teya, who was not in the meeting, confirmed the incident but blamed leadership wrangles within the assembly which have lasted since August 2018.

"I have been informed about the incident and it's quite unfortunate. It's all about leadership wrangles and it's created by few individuals. I don't sit in the Committee of the Whole House that's why I didn't attend," he said.

Since the impeachment of Mr Duke Omoti as Deputy Speaker, wrangles have rocked the assembly with MCAs loyal to Omoti waging unending war against Mr Teya.
