At parliament on Tuesday, Sirisia MP Major (Rtd) John Waluke said he was sorry for the disgraceful remarks he had made over the weekend targeting the two leaders and Luo community.

Mr Waluke has been summoned by National Cohesion and Intergration Commission over the remarks and he's likely to be dragged to court in future.

“I want to apologise to the Luo community. I never meant what I said. It was a slip of the tongue and I am sorry. I want to apologize to Tuju and Raila,” he said.

The MP further said he was ready to personally apologise to the two leaders, stating that he will call them and “if they pick my calls, I will apologise”.

In reference to claims that Tuju was working with ODM leader Raila Odinga, Waluke dismissed the Luo community as troublesome, calling for immediate resignation of Tuju.

His decision to apologise was not engineered by the NCIC but he is said to have been guided by his own conscious. He said that it was a slip of the tongue.

Waluke is one of close allies of DP William Ruto and is one of the few MPs from the large Western region who was elected on a Jubilee ticket.

Recently, Tuju was accused of working with Raila to destroy Jubilee party from within, a claim he has vehemently dismissed. Also, ODM rubbished the claims.
