The decision by President Uhuru Kenyatta to reconcile with his fierce critic and chief competitor caught many politicians from either side of political divive unprepared.

One such case is former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire, a fiery critic of the president who even at one point failed to honor Uhuru in parliament during Presidential address.

And on Friday, Bosire conceded that the president's strategy caught him off guard and that he has no option other than to one with him to foster development.

"We really wanted to kick him out. But politics and leadership being what it is, things have changed. The president of yesterday is not the same as the one of today.

"The president is now a now a serious nationalist, a serious patriot. What we were fighting for, he's now pushing for it. That's what we want. I have no option other than to join him," he said.

The ODM treasurer has been a key pointsman for Raila Odinga in the larger Gusii region close to a decade and he has been winning major battles for his party.

Lately, he is leading anti- William Ruto campaigns in the region, a move he says that he's not ready to relent any soon. Mr Bosire served as MP from 2013 to 2017.
