ODM leader Raila Odinga will after all attend the homecoming ceremony of his former lieutenant Don Bosco Gichana, a source at capitol hill has confirmed.
At the week his rival William Ruto has intensified campaigns in both Kisii and Nyamira Counties, Raila is said to be keen in using the occasion to consolidate his support base.
"It is a must attend function. He has been part of the plans and definitely that has been included in his itinerary.
"For your information, he has been part of the team rescuing Bosco and in fact, he paid Sh3 million, part of the Sh3.7 million organisers were remaining with to clear the fine," a source said in confidence.
Mr. Gichana, who was released from Tanzania prison three weeks ago after five years spell, will be returning home on October 26th at a function in Gusii stadium.
He is popular across Kisii and Nyamira Counties, and has promised to mobilise over one million voters during the event.
"I am capable of mobilising over 1 million voters. I'll use the occasion to bargain on behalf of my people," said Bosco, who has been meeting a number of leaders since his release.
Sources also intimate that Deputy President William Ruto has been invited for the occasion.
