A section of primary school teachers in Kisii County have blamed parents over the increased cases of early pregnancies among young girls.

 Moses Nyamwange, Igonga primary teacher argued that girls have been performing poorly in exams since some of them are already mothers. 

"Parents have failed to play their parental role to ensure their children are getting a proper education. Some parents more especially women have introduced their daughters to 'family planning programs' leading the minors to engage in early sex at a tender age," he noted. 

He regretted that Bomariba ward schools may not improve in performance if parents won't change the negative attitude to teachers. 

"Some parents harass teachers whenever their children are caned over indiscipline and this has made teachers to lose the teaching morale. It is high time guardians, parents to work closely with teachers to instil discipline in their children," said Nyamwange. 

Elvis Ondere, Ekerubo primary school teachers said some kids beat their teachers. 

"Some pupils come to school drunk and when teachers question them they end up beating teachers thoroughly," said Ondere. 

Bogiakumu primary school teacher noted that teachers efforts to improve pupils performance have been frustrated by drunkard parents. 

He suggested that police and chief must fight illicit brew menace to the end.
