Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi on Wednesday held talks with a delegation of elders from the Central Kenya region in Tigoni, Kiambu County.

According to Mudavadi, the meeting held at Mzee Nginyu Kariuki's home focused on a number of issues affecting the nation currently.

In a tweet, the ANC leader noted that issues discussed in the meeting included; security of the country, the nation's economy, and the agricultural sector.

"Held a consultative meeting with the Central Kenya Elders in Tigoni, Kiambu County. The meeting, hosted by Mzee Nginyu Kariuki centered on the critical issues afflicting the country in the areas of the Economy, Security and Agriculture," he wrote.

During the meeting, the leaders also deliberated on the runaway corruption in the country, and possible remedies for the worsening business environments.

The elders raised concerns about the closing down of businesses in the country and the dwindling agricultural field.

"The elders raised pertinent issues ranging from the unfavourable business environment that has seen many businesses close down, rising insecurity, dwindling agriculture sector and the rampant corruption," he added.

Mudavadi is among leaders expected to participate in the 2022 presidential race.
