Migori Governor Okoth Obado has reiterated that he has not chosen any politician to succeed him upon completion of his second and final term in government.
In an exclusive interview with Standard, the county boss said that he is committed to delivering on his promises before he leaves the office.
The Governor affirmed that sideshows will not transform the lives of the residents but development projects will.
The remarks of the governor came after it emerged that two former MPs Omondi Anyanga (Nyatike) and John Kobado (Uriri) has visited him to discuss various issues.
It, however, remains unclear what the county boss discussed with the leaders following the meeting.
Obado said that he has been open to meet all leaders in the county, and there is nothing sinister going on behind scenes.
He also said that he is not in a position to determine who will succeed him after his tenure expires.
“I meet almost all leaders in Migori to discuss issues affecting our people and how best we can resolve them, not who will become governor in 2022, that will be decided by the people, not Obado,” he said, as quoted by Standard.
Obado also urged leaders to ensure that they deliver on the pledges they made when they were seeking election into different offices.
Concerning the meeting, the county remained coy saying that they addressed issues to do with the handshake when they met.
