Wajir County Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to deal with Jubilee party rebel politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking on Saturday during the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Western Edition in Kakamega, Gedi said the politicians in question have made Kenya look like a country manned by two governments.
"I want to tell our beloved President Uhuru Kenyatta, we cannot have two governments. A government must be one. (Nataka kumwambia rais wetu mpendwa, Uhuru Kenyatta; hatuwezi kuwa na serikali mbili, serikali ni moja)," Gedi said, according to a tweet NTV.
The vocal politician also revisited the drama that befell Kimilili MP Didimus Barasa and his Mumias counterpart Benjamin Washiali during by-elections in Kibra constituency and took credit for taking of Barasa's signature cap.
The two faced hostility while campaigning for Jubilee candidate MacDonald Mariga.
They are among Western MPs supporting DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid. They have supported DP Ruto's opposition of publishing BBI despite their party leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta, backing it.
"When the BBI report was released, leaders agreed to give enough copies to the people so they can read it by themselves and make [their own] decisions. When did this change to leaders organising political mobilisation forums so as to read the report for the people? This is a new twist. No one is opposed to the BBI. Why this campaign and what is it about? Is it aimed at misusing public funds?" Ruto said during a funds drive for a school in Vihiga County last week, as quoted by Nation.
