Harambee Stars players will finally receive their Sh50 million promised by deputy president William Ruto
Ruto made the pledge before the Stars took on Ethiopia in a CAF qualifications match, where they won 3-0 at the Moi Sports Kasarani.
The money was, however, to be held until, and if only the Kenya team qualified for next year's tournament, which was initially scheduled for Cameron.
It was good news for Stars on Monday, after FIFA confirmed that Sierra Leon had been suspended from the group, meaning Kenya has automatically qualified for the tournament.
this means that the team will finally pocket the Sh50 million promised and will have the chance to grace the tournament, which they last took part in 2002.
The team has had a productive year, winning crucial matches against continental heavyweight in Ghana, and seeing off Ethiopia at home, which was preceded by a draw in the first leg.
The team will face Ghana in their final qualification match, with only a draw guaranteeing them first spot.
If they qualify as the top team in the group, they will have the chance to avoid some of the continental giants and will fancy their chances of moving to the latter stages of the tournament.
