Detectives in Nyamira County probing the brutal murder of a 67-year-old woman whose body was found dumped in a cowshed on Friday recovered a machete which the killers used to behead the woman.
Nyamira OCPD Lillis Wachira said machete was recovered buried in a shallow fresh grave at the cowshed.
He assured that detectives will not leave anything to chance.
"Police have managed to recover a machete which the killers used to behead the deceased Moraa Okoyo. Any member of the public with information about Moraa's killing should report to police to fasten the arrest of the culprits," he noted.
The OCPD assured that police will not condone crime in the area.
"We have enough police officers to intensify security patrols day and night to ensure lives of residents are safe with their property," he stated.
Mr. Wachira warned residents against peddling lies about police officers in the county.
"Claims that police are sleeping on the job are false. Residents should instead cooperate with police by reporting criminals for legal actions to be taken. Police officers are committed to ensure people are living in peace" he added.
