Speaking during an interview with Radio Maisha on Tuesday, Mutua said that the union of the three is meant to benefit the community before they leave power. He insisted that they are not working on any political plan so far.

“We are working together with @mamangilu and @governorkibwana to uplift the lives of our people of lower Eastern.

It is a progressive partnerships that allow us to have a bargaining chip on budgetary allocation and lobbying for donor funds.#billynatricky #RadioMaisha,” he said.

He also said that the region has continued to lag behind in terms of development because of division in politics.  He affirmed that the region will only develop if they unite.

Mutua further said that politicking won’t change anything. The second term governor, who has expressed interest in the race for the presidency, insisted that there is need for unity for the sake of development.

“Our problem is poverty. We must gear all our efforts towards eliminating this common problem. I am asking to be president because I want us to solve this problem.

These politicians who keep politicking are not working to help us. #Tumechoka. #billynatricky #RadioMaisha,” he said.
