Two people have sustained minor injuries in a road accident in Masinga, Machakos County.

The duo was injured after a car they were traveling in rolled several times after it lost control in Kithyoko area on Tuesday.

The probox was ferrying tomatoes during the incident.

" I was behind the probox before it lost control and rolled, I just saw a lot of dust," a lorry's driver said.

The lorry's driver said the car was over speeding when the accident occurred.

"I don't know who he was competing with. Maybe he was drunk or rushing in order to make more trips transporting tomatoes. He was driving badly and at high speed. What do you expect if you over speed in bad roads?" he added.

The driver who spoke to this writer in Masinga requested to remain anonymous for fear of victimization.

The victims were rushed to Kithyoko General Hospital for treatment by well wishers.

"They are in a stable conditions. They just got minor injuries but they have been treated and they may be discharged anytime from now." Said Martha one of the Kithyoko Hospital nurse who received the patients after the accident.

Police have been warning the drivers to drive carefully and avoid driving when fatigued or drunk.

Last week, a 42 sitter matatu was involved in an accident near Sofia in Matuu headed to Masinga where 14 were injured.
