Leaders in support of the forum have accused their rival colleagues who are set to hold a parallel meeting at Nabongo Grounds in Mumias of attempting to undermine their function.

Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi on Friday warned that those out to scuttle the BBI consultative forum will fail, saying that the strong backing behind the BBI function makes it unstoppable.

"You cannot block any function supported by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Honorable Raila Odinga, Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Mzee Atwoli (COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli)," he told the press in Bukhungu on Friday.

He spoke while in the company of Oparanya, Atwoli and other leaders, when they inspected the final touches being made on the venue ahead of the event.

Lugari MP Ayub Savula urged his party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetangula to be at Bukhungu on Saturday.

Savula said that being among the most influential leaders in Western Kenya, the two should not miss the very important meeting.

"We are encouraging our leaders Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi to be here because this is the deciding factor for the destiny of the Luhya community," he said.

The two have been linked to the Mumias meeting.
