Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra Kiprop now wants the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) translated in Vernacular languages.
He says this will ensure that people at the grassroots read and understand the document in the language that understands the best.
“I want to call upon the government to translate the BBI report into vernacular language for the locals to read, internalize and give their views on the report,” said the Kesses first-term legislator.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Friday Dr Mishra said the words which were used in writing the report are hard and can only be understood if written vernacular languages.
He further called on the government to ensure that the blueprint of the BBI copies is distributed across the county.
“As I am talking in my constituency we have not received any copy of the BBI report copies, surely how do you want Kenyans to give their inputs on the same if they have not gotten the copies,” added the Jubilee legislator.
Dr. Mishra called on Kenyans to read the report themselves and should not leave politicians to read for them noting that everyone should read and understand the document.
He called on the government to conduct sensitization on the BBI document across the country so that Kenyans may know the document and its importance.
