Jimmy Anthony is a Kamba gospel singer from Machakos county. The 26_year_old upcoming artist was born in Nzoweni village, Mitaboni ward in Kathiani sub_county.
Despite many challenges in Music, Jimmy who has two albums under his name has kept his dream alive
Talking to Hivisasa on Tuesday, the "Alyulila Maundu" (change my life) singer said that his major challenges in Music was lack of finances and getting his song played on radio and television.
"In the ministry have got several challenges, like getting my work played on Radio or TV. Again recording the music and video shooting is another mountain to climb because of financial challenges," He told Hivisasa.
According to the mellow singer, a firstborn in a family of six children and Keaa secondary school alumni; God, patience and hard work has kept him on track.
He believes that one day his determination and prayers will pay handsomely.
"Najua sio rahisi kuanza mziki na upenye haraka. Lazima utapitia mambo kadhaa ambayo yatakuvunja before ufike level fulani. (It's not easy to start music and hit immediately, you have to go through many challenges to reach where you want).But with God, hardworking and patience you go far," he noted
The young man now says he plans to help young singers whose dream is becoming a big artist with peanuts he earns from odd jobs he does to support his ministry.
He has several songs like "Mwalimu" (teacher) where he praises teachers for their good work to the community.
