Newspaper reports in Tanzania have linked the highly celebrated Bongo star to politics.

In a video shared on YouTube on Sunday, a reporter was analyzing the day's newspapers when he came to a headline that linked the 'Kwangaru' hitmaker to politics.

According to the newspaper, Harmonize will be vying for a Member of Parliament seat in 202O.

"Harmo afunguka, kugombea ubunge 2020, ataoa msimamo, aeleza mipango yake. (Harmonize has opened up, he will be vying for an MP seat come 202o, he has given out his stand his agenda), read the headline on Ijumaa newspaper.

Harmonize recently re-did his 'Kwangwaru' love song and changed it to a political song. Dubbed 'Magufuli', the new song praises sitting Tanzania President Dr John Pombe Magufuli.

The singer will not be the first artist to join politics in East Africa or even in his country. Here in Kenya, 'Kigeugeu' hitmaker Charles Njagua famously known by his musical name Jaguar is the current MP for Starehre Constituency.

In Uganda, we have the likes of Bobi Wine and Tanzania, Professor Jay, an artist is also an MP.
