Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday presided over the third graduation ceremony at the Kisii National Polytechnic in Kisii County.
Addressing learners during the event, the deputy president said to underpin the Jubilee administration's goal of 100 per cent transition from secondary school to tertiary institutions, the government has embarked on a project to construct and equip one technical and vocational college in each constituency.
"The government will ensure no young people are left behind. We are providing financial support in loans and bursaries to learners. With the roll-out of competency-based learning in our TVETs, we are equipping the youth with the skills they need to place themselves at the centre of the transformation we seek through the Big Four agenda and Vision 2030," Ruto noted.
Ruto challenged parents to ensure their children are enrolled in TVET institutions so that they can get technical skills to better their future lives.
The DP further warned against continued politicking and urged leaders to focus on service delivery.
Ruto reiterated that he will not be distracted by anyone to serve Kenyans in his capacity as the deputy president.
"My aim is to support President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver and meet expectations of Kenyans. I will not look back when it comes to service delivery to our people," he added.
