South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro has challenged church leaders to respect Deputy President William Ruto.
Osoro while speaking on Sunday at the Deliverance church Kisii said church leaders should not see Mr Ruto as an enemy.
He said DP Ruto is a focused leader determined to help churches to improve infrastructure.
"I hear some people saying that DP Ruto is donating stolen money to churches yet the money DP Ruto gives outcomes from his pocket. I want to urge church leaders to accord DP Ruto the respect he deserves," he said.
Mr Osoro who is a close ally to DP Ruto reiterated that propaganda won't derail DP Ruto's presidential ambition in 2022.
According to Osoro, DP Ruto is not a thief as being claimed by his opponents in opposition.
He confirmed that a good leader is who helps the church so that people can worship God in a conducive environment.
"Ruto is one of the leaders in this country who has been at the front line helping our churches. Therefore, he should be invited to preside over fund drives at our churches to help improve infrastructure," he added.
