Opposition leader Raila Odinga is very determined to help rid the nation of its corruption menace, Funyula Member of Parliament Wilberforce Oundo has said.
The MP who hails from Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on Tuesday said that slaying the graft menace is the main reason behind Raila's current political activeness.
He noted that the former Prime Minister has been declaring the same during each and every meeting with his allies and has been encouraging them to help in realizing the same.
"Raila is very sincere about his ongoing anti-corruption campaign alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta. He has been telling us so whenever we meet," said the MP.
Oundo was speaking in an interview on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Tuesday morning.
He also expressed confidence that President Uhuru Kenyatta will keep his vow to wipe out the menace and leave behind a corruption-free nation as he heads to retirement.
The MP noted that the Head of State has expressed sincerity in the bid and is in a better position to realize it considering that he is on his second and last term.
"I believe that Uhuru is sincere. He is also free to keep his promise as he is now free from intimidation from some of his allies who could be uncomfortable with the purge," he added.
He was referring to the Deputy President William Ruto camp which has been linked to corruption scandals lately and which partially helped Uhuru secure his two terms.
