Kutuny has joined a majority of Kenyans who have been angered by the government’s decision that HELB will partner with the police in hunting down over 74,000 graduates who have defaulted their loans which amount up to Sh7.2 billion shillings.

Through a Facebook post, the youthful legislator cited unemployment as the reason why most graduates have not been able to pay back the loans.

“I condemn with the strongest terms possible declaration by CS Education Amina Mohammed that her ministry will use the police to track down beneficiaries of HELB who have defaulted in repaying their loans…I demand that the minister withdraws her statement and apologise to Kenyans and the more than 74,000 jobless graduates who will be affected by the minister's directive,” reads part of the Facebook post.
