Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has warned Jubilee Party to be prepared for an embarrassing defeat in the Kibra parliamentary contest.
Mohammed said Kibra was an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party's stronghold and exuded confidence that it's candidate, Bernard Okoth alias Imran, will emerge with a resounding victory.
Imran will battle it out with former Kenyan international footballer McDonald Mariga who is the ruling party's flag bearer.
“They (Jubilee) will be ashamed very soon, on November 7 … They will have nowhere to hide their faces by November 8,” Junet said.
The Suna East legislator, who is also Director of Campaigns in ODM, asked Kibra residents to rally behind Imran due to his experience and track record as area manager of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
The aspirant served under his brother, Ken Okoth, who was serving his second term until his demise about two months ago.
"Imran remains the most suitable candidate for Kibra. He has a track record that speaks for itself in the constituency. Let’s not fix what’s working. A vote for Imran is a vote for even faster development in Kibra," Junet tweeted on Friday after a Jumma prayer at Makina Mosque in Kibra.
He was accompanied by Imran ODM Deputy Party Leader and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho among other leaders.
