Activist Boniface Mwangi on Thursday took a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto, moments after he visited Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission stands at Nairobi International Trade Fair Show.
Dr Ruto was among chief guests at the showground in Jamuhuri grounds, and took the opportunity to visit various stands at the show for appreciation.
EACC, which is mandated to investigate and prosecute graft cartels hosted Dr Ruto during his Thursday tour at their stand within the Jamuhuri Show ground.
"H.E the Deputy President @WilliamsRuto has visited @EACCKenya booth at the ongoing Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri Show Grounds.
"He is impressed by the Commission for taking Anti-Corruption content to schools through the Establishment of the Integrity Clubs," the commission posted.
But Mwangi dismissed the move as a mockery, accusing Dr Ruto of being a serial economic criminal who should be investigated by the same commission.
"Mta do what? A known criminal visited a police station to mock them," wrote Mwangi, who has been an anti-corruption crusader for months.
Dr Ruto is not a stranger to controversy. On Wednesday, he accused the NMG of allegedly dragging his name to forceful acquisition of the land belonging to second Vice President Joseph Murumbi.
"The now persistent, obviously sponsored FAKE NEWS by hired bankrupt media that finds it difficult to make a sale without the name Ruto. Bure kabisa. Riswa!" The DP tweeted.
