ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi has said he cannot completely rule out working with his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) counterpart Raila Odinga in the future.
Mudavadi, who has twice supported Raila for the presidency, says that while he thinks it's now his turn to go for the presidency, he cannot for sure say he will never work with Odinga again.
In an interview with the Star on Thurdsay, Mudavadi said he cannot be certain of what the future entails, even as he insisted that he will be on the presidential ballot come 2022.
“As to working together again, I think it's German dramatist Bertolt Brecht who warned against swearing saying ‘never say never’ because never comes before the day is over,” he said.
About his bid, he hinted at an alliance where he will be the presidential candidate, adding that he has done enough supporting of other people and is now going for the top seat.
He said he is fit for the post, as he has what it rakes to deal with some of the current challenges in the country, including the bad economy.
"I have supported other people for a long time. I have supported retired President Moi, President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2002 and ODM leader Raila Odinga in 2007 and 2017. In reality, I have come out as someone who has supported others. This time, I am going out to look for support for my candidacy," Mudavadi said.
“I have a cure for the current economic malaise. I'm not craving for power for the sake of it. I want the power to benefit Kenyans,” he added.
