Governor John Nyagarama has been urged to consider tabling the list of over 1,000 officers who face sack following payroll audit that exposed their illegal recruitment.
Last week, a rejuvinated Nyagarama vowed to continue with payroll clean-up, adding that nobody will derail his agenda.
"I will not be shaken. The wage bill is at ceiling and those who were irregularly recruited have to go home. I have done my part and nobody will intimidate me at all," he said.
The irregularly recruited workers did not receive April salaries and the county is said to have saved over Sh24 million within just a month.
Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire now wants the governor to make the list public as a move of backing his fight against impunity.
"Let him now publish the names of affected workers. We want to know if it's true or it's just another PR gimmick. They must be forced to pay back. Those who sneaked them in must also face the law," he said.
So controversial has been the payroll purge that some senior officers have publicly scolded one another over the exercise. Public Service Management minister Bernard Osumo linked his impeachment to the exercise.
According to him, MCAs are culpable of sneaking names into payroll and thus, they introduced impeachment motion to intimidate him. He has since blocked it in court.
